Nearly 30 years ago Johnny Cash came to Australia for a concert tour. That trip he made a special journey to Stanthorpe, Queensland and put on an impromptu benefit raising nearly $10,000 for the local Blue Nurses. On that trip was Johnny and June’s young 21 year old son, John Carter Cash.

Now, 27 years later, John Carter Cash is coming to Byron Bay for a holiday with his family, his first trip back to Australia since that last benefit concert. But this time sadly his father and mother passed away and instead he is travelling with his own family, wife Ana Cristina Cash and their new baby daughter, Grace June Cash. John Carter is himself an accomplished musician, author of three children’s books and has produced albums for a who’s who of great American country music artists, those works winning five grammies along the way.
In a nostalgic moment just a couple of weeks ago, John Carter Cash offered to do another benefit concert, this time to support the Bangalow equivalent of the Blue Nurses, the Feros Care Bangalow Village. The Cash’s always have been the most generous and giving of families.
