Walkaboutfish Records presents Fiji-born didgeridoo artist and stringed instrument virtuoso Jay Hoad. Jay performs both as a solo artist and also fronts an extremely high energy band. He has three internationally-released albums to his credit, “Stories For The Soul”, “Warmth In The White”, and his newest release, “Home Is Where The Heart Is”.
Jay has spent the last seven years touring the globe, following the sun and his inspiration for music throughout the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Fiji, India, and North America, keeping up a relentless performance schedule whilst passionately learning about third world culture and every style of music he can sink his teeth in to. In 2011 Jay was honoured to support Bob Marley’s ‘The Wailers’ on the East Coast leg of their North America tour, amongst other international artists. Jay has been featured at major festivals including WOMADelaide and the Port Fairy Folk Music Festival.
Hoad’s new release “Home Is Where The Heart Is” is his most anticipated yet, with tracks written in some of the most exotic (and some not so exotic) locations around the world, and with intimate details of each location described in the album liner notes. “Home Is Where The Heart Is” was recorded with renowned producer Craig Porteils (Gun & Roses, Terence Trent D’arby, Diesel, etc.) in Sydney and features many specials guests, including premier Fijian artist “Knox”. As per usual, the artwork and layout is breathtaking, designed to please all true lovers of art and music.
