Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, David fell in love with music at a very young age and started DJing when he was 17. David went to London to study Sound Engineering and worked as an Assistant Engineer at Alpha Centauri, one of Londonʼs top studios. After playing various gigs in Berlin, he soon realized that this was the right place for his music style and moved to Berlin.
With regular appearances in a many of legendary Berlin night clubs, from Club der Visionäre, which would eventually host his marathon Meltdown nights, regular appearances at Sisyphos and Kater Blau, to spots at Tresor, Panorama Bar, and the late, beloved Bar25, the Colombian DJ and producer David Delgado has confidently established himself in the upper level of the German capital’s underground firmament.
In 2012 David joined Tom Clark’s legendary Highgrade label, as well as their booking agency. “I’m a little bit of a perfectionist – this has turned out both good and bad for me. Sometimes, I can get lost in the details. When it feels like it’s in my power to make a production better, I get the urge to do whatever it takes. And take as long as is needed. I want to make it top quality.”
Parallel to DJing, David keeps himself busy in the studio producing music day by day, often with his friends and contemporaries Mihai Popoviciu and Argenis Brito, amongst others. As for his releases, he takes his time to perfect them until the music meets his standards. The newer work is dryer, more minimal, its jazziness increasingly improvisational, with artfully manipulated chords, and baselines often sampled from rare jazz records punctuated by the swell of mysterious orchestra stabs. The mood is suspended, an off-kilter swamp-like haze.
His musical versatility and impeccable mixing skills, the flow of the classic and the new, allow him a canny adaptability, from a spacey early afternoon set at Club der Visionäre to the peak of Panorama Bar closing set. What’s next? His own label, Live shows and more musical expansion.
Music lover…born and bred in Salerno, south of Italy. Nick fell in love with the music from an early age, His success and passion comes from being a clubber andhis love of vinyl.
Nick started his career by playing private parties with friends and quickly picked up residencies at local clubs where he went from honing in on his DJ skills to taking his first steps into productions at age 21. Much passion and strong dedication led him getting booked at a number of underground parties across Europe.
Life is unpredictable and he never expected to end up on the other side of the world! In 2014 Nick made the move to Australia and within a few months he began playing at some of Melbourne’s finest underground venues and his talent didn’t go unnoticed. His heart then leads him to Sydney where Nick co-founded the extremely successful and vibrant WeLove party at Sydney’s iconic Burdekin Hotel.
Smashing onto the Sydney music scene in 2015 Nick has quickly become one of Sydney’s best underground DJs, and even with such a busy schedule this fella continues to produce and play his own style of music in the best clubs and festivals. Creative, with a driving energy from deep inside, this is Nick Reverse.
Inspiration can sometimes occur at the most unexpected moments, and life decisions can plant the seed towards something totally unexpected.
7 years ago Brian made the move to Melbourne. It wasn’t long before the young Irishman found himself falling in love with the local scene and its biggest charm, Revolver: ’I was instantly hooked with the music scene here. So diverse – and so many sounds to suit any ear. It sucked me in.’ The admiration turned into adoration.
Fast forward to 2016 and Brian has become an integral part of the Thick as Thieves crew, and they have gone on to book him as support for internationals such as Andhim, Kolsch, Hot Since 82, Patrick Topping and Oliver $. His technical skills and musical understanding resulted in him getting the warm-up duties nod for major players like Oliver Huntemann, Sonny Fodera, Jay Lumen and Spanish star, German Brigantte. You can regularly see him around Melbourne in Circus, 161 and of of course his obsession, Revolver where he holds a friday residency with Thick as Thieves Friday and a rotational guest at the inaugural Revolver Sundays where recently he’s been trusted with filling in the 7am slot, one only a handful of DJs in Melbourne have been fortunate enough to do.
The Brian Fantana-sound can be hard to pinpoint, but there is a common theme uniting the tracks in his sets: Dark, bass-heavy and emotional. Think producers like Re.you, ANNA, Kolsch, Dennis Cruz and Oliver Huntemann and you’re almost there. Now add Brian Fantana’s acumen to sew these tracks together in a unique way, and you have one of the most exciting prospects to hit the Melbourne scene in a long time.
Featuring at this years Pitch Music and Arts festival, Australia’s biggest and best techno event at the same time as Mano Le Tough, is just one of the achievements of Market Memories.
